This is a complete retro kit for the DIY savvy to mod their NW 200.
This retro kit comes with a Sicce PSK-2500 with Pinwheel AND Meshwheel, a 1" uniseal, a 3/4"MPT x 1" Slip fitting, a piece of 1" pipe about 2" long, and a 1" 45 fitting.
In order to complete this modification, you must be comfortable with and have some tools on hand.
We recommend using a 1 3/4 hole saw without a centering bit and a Dremel with a cutoff wheel and a cutting bit.
1, Using the cut off wheel, remove the original inlet for your OTP-3000 pump. This is the point of no return, once this is gone you can not get off this roller coaster!
2. Using the cut off bit, remove the inner plumbing that extends from the fitting we just cut off.
3. Using the 1 3/4 hole saw cut a hole in the side of the skimmer for the new inlet. We recommend putting it near the stand pipe where the water exits the skimmer. This center of this new hole should be about 5 inches from the bottom, we just need to make sure there is enough room for the pump to draw water in, the lower we can mount this the better as it will take more advantage of the skimmer body to fill with bubbles. When we drill this hole in our shop, we do this on a drill press.
4. Remove the piece of acrylic that you just cut out of the skimmer body from the holesaw, make sure you get this out in one piece. Clean it up so there are no remnants of acrylic on the sides. Using some adhesive, either some Weldon or some PVC cement, glue this to the old inlet we removed earlier with the Dremel. This piece of acrylic is curved and it follows the conture of the skimmer body perfectly.
*** DO NOT USE ANY PVC CEMENT ON ANY OF THE FOLLOWING STEPS OR ITEMS! IT IS NOT NEEDED! ***
5. Take the Uniseal from this kit and insert it into the new hole.
6. Take the stub of 1 inch PVC included in this kit and press it into the Uniseal, they slide in better if you wet them first.
7. Take the 45 degree elbow and attach it to the end of the stub inside the skimmer.
8. Screw the threaded fitting into the Sicce pump, then press this fitting into the PVC stub.
9. Push the pump all the way into the skimmer until the threaded fitting rests against the Uniseal.
10. Point the 45 degree elbow down and away from the skimmer exhaust plumbing inside the skimmer, this will help to prevent microbubbles in your system.
