The MSO BH 500L Protein Skimmer is powered by an OTP-2000  needlewheel drive pump.  This pump draws 38 watts.  This hang on skimmer features a bubble plate to reduce turbulance within the skimmer body, it also includes a  large collection cup.

This is a well-priced beefy hang on skimmer, best used for those who do not have a sump but would like a powerful protein skimmer.
