Marine Solutions would like to introduce the reef community to the Storm Drive. Are you ready to take your "current direction" in the right direction?
This device will allow you to create massive surges of flow in your coral reef to simulate real waves and create strong, chaotic flow. The storm drive will offer surges up to 36,000 gph for around only 200 watts… if your reef can handle it, or, you can simply drop the maximum surge down to whatever you feel your reef can handle. The storm drive is not a wave machine, it is creates natural surges of water to simulate waves crashing into your reef. Corals will thrive in the strong chaotic flow and you will see more polyp extension then ever. Fish will love the strong flow, especially strong flow loving fishes. The strong flow will also keep detritus in suspension to assist in nutrient reduction. The storm drive is recommended (but not limited to) for reefs between 120-500 gallons (display tank size).
Surge or Stream operation
- The storm drive can be operated in all modes in either surge or stream setting.
Day Mode
- Day Mode is the default mode for the system and will provide strong currents throughout the day time for the fish and coral to enjoy.
Night Mode
- Night Mode will allow your fish time to rest after a long day in the strong currents of your virtual ocean by lowering the maximum flow.
Storm Mode
- Storm mode will create a raging torrent of tank cleaning insanity during the daytime for a period of time specified by the user. Or, if you prefer, you can make storm mode bump the flow up or down slightly throughout the day to give even more random flow. It’s totally up to you.
Feed Mode
- Feed mode will allow you to feed your fish without food particles blowing furiously around the tank causing finicky fish to miss a meal by lowering the maximum flow.

Low energy usage:
For a tank with 30,000gph surges, you will read approximately 200W average (144kwh per month). Energy usage is based on oscillation settings and max peak. By default the storm drive will use only 165W average (27,000gph surges) and it is suggested that the user run a small fan across the motor to preserve motor longevity.
